Two members of the South West Metal Finishing team have been awarded their Licentiates from the Institute of Metal Finishing. Chris Mayer and Leigh Cox were awarded their certificates on the 6th March 2017, pictured here with our trainer for many years, Allen Turner.
Achieving the licentiate is no easy task, the projects undertaken took two years to complete and their aren’t very many people in the UK holding this qualification. It demonstrates dedication to the field of material finishing and the Company is very proud of their accomplishment.
Chris & Leigh undertook investigations into seeing how changing certain process variables would affect the hydrogen embrittlement and corrosion resistance of Zinc-Nickel electrolytes, the course lasted 2 years and involved 2 projects. One was a literature review to make sure that the work I did hadn’t already been done and the second was the actual testing itself.
