South West Metal Finishing has recently installed a new training and development line. This line is a small scale duplication of a modern electroplating hand line and is designed for use by new operators and operators who may be changing process or upgrading their skills. The line can offer training on stages of the surface treatment process from pre treatments for steel and brass, etches, any plating solution including copper plating, nickel plating, zinc nickel plating, and silver plating, as well as post treatment passivations. The line is also being used by our process development team for research into new processing techniques, trialling of new masking methods and process validation. This is an exciting step for the company and gives us a chance to enhance the skills of our operators before being tested on live parts.
