Aerospace Sector concerns:
Our local MP Ben Bradshaw for Exeter took the time to have a Skype call with South West Metal Finishing recently, he’s a great supporter of industry and employers in the region. We were able to voice our concerns about the effect the pandemic crisis is having on the Aerospace Sector, and how we are likely to be a long way away from a true bounce back recovery with aircraft build programmes being dramatically reduced. We are lucky to have such an active MP who gave us some great recommendations and we felt he fully understood our concerns. Remains to be seen whether the Government in power will take the necessary action to ensure the hard work that has been done in building a strong Aerospace footprint in the UK will be undone because we do not match the investment that the Europeans and USA are doing to support the industry and to protect our essential skilled workforce.
