The process is used in a wide range of applications such as corrosion resistance, where electrical conductivity is required on a specific area of a part. It is also used as an undercoat for paints, where it improves the adhesive strength and the corrosion protection.

Environmental
Hexavalent Chrome Compounds such as chromic acid, which is used for the ALOCROM Conversion are carcinogenic. Therefore the EU-regulation REACH considers chromic acid as a substance of very high concern which means that a further use of the substance after set 17 could only be possible with authorisation.
